Nanahemaa Afriyie Kobuor, Queen mother of Kwahu Obo 

The Queen-mother of Kwahu Obo Traditional Area in the Eastern Region Nana hemaa Afriyie Kobuor, has treated over thousand (1000) children and old age women at the mammoth party to mark this year's yuletide and stressed the need for all to be thankful to God for a successful year despite the world deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The celebration of the new year party with the children and aged in Kwahu Obo and its adjoining communities was done by the queen in collaboration with the Kwahu Obome citizen Accra-based private business woman, Madam Afia Toffee.

They were presented with bags of rice cooking oils and assorted drinks, among others to help them to celebrate this new year's.

Addressing the gathering, Nana hemaa Afriyie Kobuor expressed gratitude to  Afia Toffee for her unflinching support and collaboration offered to ensure that the celebration takes place and thanked all those who helped for the programme to be a success.

She stressed that the event was held to fete the children, aged and widows in Kwahu Obo and its adjoining environs.

According to the queen, she organised the party with them to them that, they form part of the society to give them hope and love, hence the need to be celebrated in the society.

Nanahemaa Afriyie Kobuor, used the opportunity to call on parents and guardians to prioritize their wards education that is the main route to sustainable living in this current dispensation.

"I am calling on all the parents to allocate enough time for their childcare since a better tomorrow depends on happy child today, so children should be considered as the social security and further gave advised to the children to be obedient to their parents and learn hard to become better leaders in future.

Some of the children who availed for the celebration could not hide their joy and excitement.

They expressed profound appreciation to the Queen mother of Kwahu Obo for the love rendered them.

For their part, the beneficiaries of old age women who received the items thanked the queen mother for putting smiles on their faces this festive season and asked God to replenish whatever she had spent on them.
