Ghanaian artiste, Dada Hafco, has opened up on how he felt when Amakye Dede gave Kuami Eugene the "King of Highlife" crown during the VGMA '19.

It would be remembered that Amakye Dede called out Kuami Eugene and awarded him a crown to signify his coronation as the "King of Highlife" during his performance at the VGMA last year.

Dada Hafco has labeled the action as an insult to the genre; that such a young artiste would be crowned king when there were "elders" in the game who had bee reigning long before him.

Opinions were divided after the show, as some music lovers backed the claim, touting Kuami Eugene as the outright king while others spoke that he still had a lot more work to do before he can lay claim to the throne.

Dada Hafco has now dropped his 2 cents on the crowning incident well over a year after while speaking in an exclusive interview to host Agyewodin Akosua Sakyibea on Ahotor FM.

“Kuami Eugene is a fine talent but crowing him as the highlife king is an insult to the oldies in the game, how long has he been doing highlife to be crowned king of highlife, he is good but it is not time yet”,

Kuami Eugene has always received stern criticisms for being way ahead of his time and this only begs the question as to which yardstick should be used to measure the success of an artist. Age and experience, or the amounts of achievements?
