Oscar nominee Tems criticised for view-blocking outfit

Tems, a Nigerian singer, was criticized on social media for her outfit, which obscured other attendees' views, when she made her Oscars début on Sunday.

The 27-year-old Tems, whose actual name is Temilade Openiyi, received a nomination for Best Original Song for the song Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

A screenshot of a visitor craning his neck to see the stage led to criticism of the woman's head-covering white gown.

The performer received harsh criticism for being "rude" on social media.

Lessja Verlingieri of Lever Couture, a fashion designer of Ukrainian descent, created Tem's outfit.
