Kenyan building collapses after tenants evacuated

Just one day after its residents were evacuated, a five-story residential structure fell on Monday in Ruiru, a suburb of Nairobi.

Kimani Wamatangi, the local governor, saw the evacuation on Sunday after the building started to crumble.

Local media outlets said that it has over 100 renters.

It was earlier claimed that the National Construction Authority (NCA) had determined it to be structurally unstable.

Citizen TV, a local television station, posted an image of the structure.
