Journalists Angry  At Chief Justice, IGP & Prez.Akufo-Addo --Over Police & Land-guards Brutalities Of Land Developers At Topkings Village Site
The destruction caused to building structures by the police officers and land-guards at Topkings Village site in East Legon
Two seasoned broadcasting journalists working with Multimedia Group Ghana have vented their anger at President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Chief Justice of Ghana, Mr Kwasi Anin-Yeboah Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and National Security Minister, Albert Kan-Dapaah, calling on them to ensure peace and order on the 465 acres land being legally and lawfully owned by the Topkings Enterprise Limited and Nuagua Stool situated at East Legon in Accra.

The journalists who in the persons of Omanhene Kwabena Asante of Adom Television and Ekosiisen Host Philip Osei Bonsu (OB) noted that they couldn't fathom why the President and state security regulatory institutions had looked  unconcern for some police officers and land-guards to be used by the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Trasacco Group, Mr Ernesto Taricone to destroy plush building structures in Topkings Village Project Site at East Legon.

According to the journalists, it is a high time for them to delve into these continuous life-threatening issues to call on President Akufo-Addo who is the Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces and state security regulatory institutions to intervene in the matter which was currently brewing insecurity, fear and panic in the area.
The two journalists expressed their sentiments over this pressing matter when scores of the land developers who genuinely and legally bought lands from Topkings Enterprise Limited located at its Topkings Village site called into the Ekosiisen programme on Wednesday February 15, 2023 to make the report of the attacks meted to them by team of police officers and land-guards.

Discussing the issue on programme, the two journalists stressed that "We are surprised to hear that the police officers and land-guards have invaded the Topkings Village site in East Legon again to destroy plush building structures and beating workers of the Topkings and land developers.

This, according to them, is because "we were told that the land litigation issues were being handled by the National Security and Ghana Police Administration.
"So now it seems like our state security regulatory institutions have allowed the police officers and these land-guards who were hired by the Trasacco Group to visit the mayhem at the land developers and workers of the Topkings.
"The unconcerned by the national security regulatory institutions to ensure security and order in Topkings Village site in East Legon has attested to the fact Ghana is now a lawless state. Because the unconcerned attitudes of the national security have given opportunity to the land-guards and police officers to be hired by individuals to beat up land developers who had legally bought their lands from the Topkings," they noted.
Mr Asante described the situation as a danger, saying that l am surprise that the Chief Justice of Ghana, Mr Kwasi Anin-Yeboah and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo are not acting on this matter. We calling on the President Akufo-Addo to immediately put in place security corrective measures to stop the land-guards attacked meted out to the land purchasers and workers of the company
For Omanhene Asante, he expressed wounded why the Chief Justice could not provide measures for the enforcement of the Supreme Court judgement which was declared in favour of the Topkings Enterprise Limited and Nuagua Stool as the owners of the lands in East Legon.
According to him, the judgement stated that  the lands situated at Topkings Village site in East Legon belongs to the company and Nuagua Stool, saying that it is important for the national security to stop the owner of the Trasacco Group from trespassing on the land.
Narrating their ordeal in an interview with Asempa FM on Wednesday February 15, 2023, Mr Akwesi Adjei, one of the land developers noted that he legally bought his land from Topkings Enterprise Limited and Nuagua Stool who are custodial owners of the land in the area.
Mr Akwesi Adjei detailed what has happened at the Topkings Village site on Wednesday February 15, 2013 and saying the attacks on them by the team police officers and land-guards is very  heartbreaking.
According to the victim, they were on the land at the Topkings Village site when the guns weirdly land-guards numbering about eight invaded the site and starting monitoring the ongoing buildings construction activities on the land.
Mr Kwesi Adjei narrated that in the thirty minutes late, they saw that some police officers holding guns in accompany with 15 team of land-guards also stormed the site and gave them hot the chase on the land.
The land developer reaffirmed that the police officers and land-guards destroyed dozen of building properties on the land and subsequently subjected some of the workers to severe beatings.
Mr Kwesi Adjei lamented that if he has not run away from the site, by now the marauding police officers and land-guards should have beaten him to death.
He pointed out that the military officers who were deployed to Topkings Village Project site to maintain peace and order were recalled back to the office on the direct orders of the owner of Trasacco Group.
According to him, this development had given the chance for the police officers and land-guards to take advantage of the absent of the military officers to destroy plush building properties on the land worth over billions of Ghana cedis.
Meanwhile, Top Kings Enterprise Limited, a real estate company refuted claims that the company and the Nungua Stool have allegedly taken over a parcel of land belonging to Empire Builders.
On January 31, Empire Builders organised a press conference and alleged that its lands were taken over by Top Kings and Nungua Stool and called on the president to intervene.
But in reaction to the press conference held by Empire Builders, Top Kings Enterprise Limited, on Friday, said that the company and Nungua Stool were the rightful owners of the land situated at Adjiringanor.
The General Manager for Top Kings Enterprise Limited and Special Aide to the Nungua Stool, Dr Benjamin Danso told journalists in Accra on Friday that the land in question was litigated for more than 22 years and that the Supreme Court brought finality to the matter in 2020, with a decision that went in favour of Top Kings Enterprise Ltd and the Nungua Stool.
Dr Danso urged clients and members of the public seeking to buy land in the area to only deal with Top Kings Enterprise Ltd, and the Nungua Stool as they were the rightful owners of the land.
He said in 1999 Empire Builders initiated legal action against Top Kings Enterprise Ltd, and Nungua Stool over the land covering 1800 acres.
Dr. Danso said Empire Builders, the plaintiff lost all judgements from the High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
He said Empire Builders, not satisfied with the decisions of the courts, filed separate suits at the Accra High Court, Land Court 10 Division, and the Adenta High Court, all of which were dismissed.
Dr. Danso said it was untrue that Empire Builders were granted leases to a land totalling 402 acres by the government and Nungua Stool.
He said the Supreme Court judgement did not state that Empire Builders were owners of 402 acres of land.
On the two-week ultimatum given by Empire Builders for government to intervene in the matter, Dr Danso reminded Empire Builders that Top Kings Enterprise Limited, were only working with the decision of the Supreme Court which legitimises Top Kings Enterprise Ltd, and Nungua Stool as the rightful owners of the land.
“We are not aware if the government has responded yet to their press conference, but clearly Empire Builders Ltd, does not expect the government to overturn the various court decisions dismissing its claims to the land. The obvious reason being there, is no merit in its claims and no court will entertain them any longer.
He said Ghana was a country governed by laws, adding that in 2020, when the validity of the election of President Akufo-Addo was challenged, it took the Supreme Court to affirm that President Akufo-Addo was validly elected.
Mr Danso advised Empire Builders Ltd, to seek redress in court rather than fighting Top Kings through press conferences.
“Land disputes are resolved at the court and not by press conferences or the intervention of the president,” Dr Danso added.
Dr. Danso alleged that after the January 31 press conference, Empire Builders Ltd, allegedly demolished properties running into millions of Ghana Cedis on the land granted by the Nungua Stool and also affirmed by the court.
