Jaman North Residents Raise Red Flag Over Unlawful Electric Power Disconnect Exercises Of ECG
Residents in the various villages and towns of the Jaman North District Assembly of the Bono Region have hinted at their preparation to stage a massive demonstration against what they described as complete unlawful disconnection exercises being carried out by the Disconnection Task Force of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

Residents in the various villages and towns of the Jaman North District Assembly of the Bono Region have hinted at their preparation to stage a massive demonstration against what they described as complete unlawful disconnection exercises being carried out by the Disconnection Task Force of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
According to them, their anger has stemmed from the fact that the Task Force has not considered human face when they stormed their areas to embark on an exercise to disconnect all indebted customers in the district.
He lamented that the task force sometimes ended up disconnecting some of them who had even paid and lost their receipts to show to them.
The Presiding Member (MP) for Jaman North District Assembly, who doubles as the Assembly Member for Kokoa New Town Electoral Area of the Bono Region, Honorable Abraham Osei on the behalf of the residents expressed this sentiment.
The PM who was speaking to newsmen in an exclusive interview during the first general assembly meeting of 2022 in the Jaman North district, the presiding member stressed that unity is the only key that enhances the development.
On the issue of electricity provision in the district, the PM indicated that there are a lot of complaints by several customers of electricity in the Jaman North District.
He noted that many customers in the district have registered their displeasure against how the ECG of the suppliers of the Jaman North embarked on their disconnection exercises.
He prayed with GRIDCo ECG, and VRA to ensure early distribution of the electricity bill to their clients to create their awareness for settlement of the cost.
He stated that the practice of carrying out the billing and disconnection exercises on the same days highly affected the customers of electricity as a result of economic hardship in the country.
The Presiding Member for Jaman North used the opportunity to call all the assembly members within the country to foster unity among themselves to attain development for their respective electoral areas and the districts at large.
In this vein, he stressed the need for all assembly members to incorporate to achieve the purpose of being voted for by their electorates as assembly members.
He, therefore, pleaded with the assembly members to bury their political discrepancies at assembly meetings and aim at achieving the developmental goal for their electorate.
