Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery indicated that the Police Service promoted the late General Constable Emmanuel Osei to the post of a Lance Corporal position since he died on duty while serving the nation.

Family, friends and loved ones of late General Constable Emmanuel Osei were clad in red and black attire gathered at the Gomoa Nyanyano - Kakraba School park to bid farewell to their brother and friend.

Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery was present as well as members of the Police Management Board led by Director of Welfare Services, COP Maame Yaa Tiwa Addo-Danquah also mourned with the Bereaved Family. 

Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery while commiserating with the bereaved family of the late Police constable indicated that the Police Service promoted the late General Constable Emmanuel Osei to the post of a Lance Corporal position since he died on duty while serving the nation. 

It will recall that on the 14th of June 2021, some unknown assailant shot him to death when escorting a bullion van at Jamestown in the Greater Accra Region.

The Minister indicated the government's commitment to enhance the capacity of Police officers across the country while ensuring that banks follow due process in ensuring that police officers who go on bank guards are given the needed protection.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for the Gomoa East Constituency, Hon Desmond De-Graft Paitoo speaking in an interview with the media, urged the government to make available working tools that can help protect officers of the Security Agencies towards having a sound mind to protect life and property.

Some friends of the late Police constable also shared fond memories to the Media while commiserating with the family.
