Incorporate educational trips to tourist sites onto academic calendar-Cherryfied Montessori School CEO urges

The Park Manager of the Shai Hills Resources Reserve, Mr. Prince Anane Adjei has revealed that about 50,000 tourists visit the park annually. Out of this figure, he noted, 85% are locals and tourists. According to him, data available to them as managers, the locals form the chunk of the visitors to the park and as such they try to run their promotions to target these individuals. This, he said could have gone up if energies were channeled into advertisements that would woo tourists to the site. In view of that, Mr. Anane noted his outfit has liaised with a number of media outlets to give publicity. He said the target groups per their data, will be schools, churches, youth groups to know about the serenity of the site. "One of the lessons we have learnt is when covid came in where non-nationa tourists were locked up, visitors we were receiving were all locals", he reflected. He said this calls for measures to sensitize the Ghanaians on the benefits of engaging in visits of that kind.
