Residents in Kasoa in the Central region of Ghana have asked President Nana Addo to reconsider the restriction on funeral ceremonies.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his 23rd national update on the coronavirus disease last Sunday night, "private burials, with no more than 25 people can take place, with the enforcement of social distancing, hygiene, and facemask-wearing protocols."

This order according to the Kasoa residents is below the belt therefore he must come out as soon as possible to amend the restriction.

“Come again Mr. president Akufo-Addo your order of only 25 people for a funeral is below the belt”

The residents argued that said some churches take about 200 members while some classroom also takes more than 25 so why did the President impose restrictions on that but on funerals and weddings.

“Some churches take about 200 members while some classroom also takes more than 25 so why did you not impose restrictions on them,” they queried.

They said Nana-Addo should not let pressure take him by storm to effect needless restrictions on some public gatherings. If he has imposed restrictions on funerals, then restrictions on churches and other public should follow up.
