Ignore Appeal To Reduce E-levy From 1.75 To 1% By Faceless Group.

The national youth wing of the party has received notice of a publication making a wave in the media appealing to the government to reduce the E-levy from 17.5% to 1%.

The People’s National Convention (PNC) youth wing wishes to inform the general public and well-meaning members of the party that, it has not sanctioned any of its members to communicate this to Ghanaians in its Favor.

Comrade Mark Ewusi Arkoh is the elected national youth organizer but not the appointee of the parties embittered suspended general secretary.

In a press statement signed by the National Youth Organizer, Comrade Mark Ewusi Arkoh, as far as they are concerned, the attempt by these faceless groups is geared towards destroying the image of the youth wing.

The national youth wing will soon petition the disciplinary committee of the party to take necessary actions against these individuals appropriately.

As aromas, ideological party, the E-levy before parliament when passed has lots of negative effects on the teeming youth of this country than we could imagine.

“We must come together to demand accountability of the 2 billion Ghana cedis from IMF, 430 million Ghana cedis from the World Bank, 10 billion from the central bank, 250 million dollars from the stabilization fund, and all the monetary allocations geared towards cushioning the economy”, it added.

We believe that government can raise revenue for developmental projects when it heeds to this advice.

1: Reduce government extravagant expenditure.

2: Seal all loopholes.

3: Reduce the number of tax exemptions to foreign companies.

4: Expand the tax net by building robust data to capture every person.

5: Judiciously use taxes paid by the ordinary Ghanaian for its intended purpose.

6: Properly deal with institutions and individuals who do not comply with tax obligations.

“We want to state that it will not sit well for the government to tax capitals or savings of its citizens or any individual”, it stressed.

The PNC youth wing will want to reiterate, that it will support Ghanaians to reject the introduction of this tax through the people's representative in parliament.
