Nose mask traders in Kumasi have testified that demand for masks since school reopened has brought them huge benefits due to the coronavirus prevention.

Nose mask business is booming in Kumasi business centres as people bolt to purchase for protection against pandemic coronavirus.

Sellers say, their sales have abruptly risen recently as a result of schools reopening and are therefore acquiring a lot of revenues since Friday 15 January 2021.

A seller at New Kumasi Kejetia Market, Madam Abena Frimpomaa told  Soiree News 24 (SN 24) that, "I'm really making a lot of money via the sale of nose masks. I'm able to accumulate an amount of 2,500 Ghc a day. I owed a bank 30,000 Ghc but I have been able to settle the debt via nose masks sales".

Another seller, Mavis Kyei and some others said they are able to sell about 50 packs of the nose masks a day.

Nose masks and hand sanitiser trading have created employment to many Ghanaians since the outbreak of Covid-19 in early last year,2020.

Schools were locked down on March 2020 but since school opening, nose mask sellers in Kumasi Metropolis say they are making a lot of money as compared to the early days.

"In fact, nose mask business is booming nowadays, we're making a lot of profit since school reopening than those days of schools lockdown. Before schools reopening we were able to sell only two to three packs a day. But nowadays we're are able to sell 10 to 50 packs a day depending on your location".

President Akufo-Addo has made it mandatory for all Ghanaians to wear nose mask, a step he claims will reduce the spread of pandemic coronavirus. So far, Ghana has recorded 55,899 cases with 358 death and 5,8431.
