Radio presenter, Abeiku Santana has narrated how he had to let go of smoking because of a lady he was wooing back when he was younger.

According to him, he was a chronic smoker until he met that particular lady who urged him to quit the dangerous lifestyle. He stated that before then, not a day passed that he did not smoke.

He revealed this while giving an account on how he met his wife on Okay FM.

"I used to smoke very much. So one day, I had finished my show on Ashh FM. After the show, I moved downstairs to take some Apio while I was smoking my cigarette. I saw this fair lady who used to pass by so I asked that they call her for me because I couldn’t have gone to chase a lady and be snubbed because I was a celebrity. She came to where I was enjoying my drink and cigarette and I told her I like her but it didn’t work,” he disclosed.

He explained that he got to know that one of the other guys had proposed love to her but had been rejected when he got back to the office.

“So I had to change my game. I re-strategize and went in for her and she accepted me. We dated for some time but did not get married. But later in life, we came together and got married,” he said.

Abeiku Santana divorced from his first wife, Magaret somewhere in the year 2012 in a sad twist to the tale.

Abeiku Santana, who was a former employee of Adom FM, a private radio station, is said to have married his wife on October 20, 2005, at the Registrar General's Department, Tema, in accordance with the Marriage Ordinance Cap 127, and they co-habited at Community 18, Tema, and subsequently at Manet Court on the Spintex road in Accra.

The pair had six children out of which one died while on treatment at Korle bu teaching hospital.

Abeiku Santana later got married to his newfound love, Genevieve and they are still together till today. They have one beautiful daughter.
