I Haven't Illegally Diverted Premix Fuel; My Hands Are Clean—DCE  Fires At Critics

THE District Chief Executive (DCE) of North Tongu District Assembly in the Volta Region, Mr  Divine Osbon Fenu, has denied allegations being leveled against him saying that, no DCEs were involved in the supply and distribution of premix fuel by some members and supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) including some concerned fishermen at the landing Beach sites in the district for illegally diverting premix fuel.

He further rubbished the allegations that he was invited by the EOCO for illegally diverting the product, stressing that the allegation was fake and cooked one, ostensibly hatched by his critics to defame him.

According to the DCE, he believes that those NDC faithful and some concerned fishermen at landing Beach sites in the district who are making these cooked allegations against him of illegally diverting premix fuel absolutely lacked experience in the supply and distribution system of premix fuel in the fishing industry.

Mr Fenu stated that per the law and policies by the Ministries of Energy and Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, National Petroleum Authority (NPA), and National Premix Fuel Committee (NPFC), he hasn't been directly involved in the sale, supply, and distribution of premix fuel in the fishing industry.

"I was not directly involved in the sale, supply, and distribution of premix fuel, my friend referring to (this journalist), if the premix fuel was loaded at the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) Limited which is Ghana's premier oil refinery by the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), there were coordinators who will inform the secretaries and chairmen at the various landing beach sites before the product gets to the sites to be sold to the fishermen.

He stressed that no DCEs were directly involved in the supply, distribution, and sale of premix fuel, saying that the allegation of the NDC members and fishermen in the area to be treated with contempt it deserves.

These assertions that the Premix Coordinator for Southern Volta, Mr Philip Adzavon has corroborated and jumped into the defence of the DCE, saying that Mr Fenu has not been involved in any illegal activity and that his hands are clean.

He told Soireenews.com in an interview via telephone on Friday, May 7, 2024, that the accusers of Mr Fenu for diverting the premix fuel should leave him alone because the nonavailability of the premix product in the system is a global issue.

"So if the premix fuel has stopped coming to the two various landing beach sites at Mepe and Battor, it does mean that Mr Fenu is diverting the product," he reaffirmed.
