The most popular presidential candidate in the race for the presidency, Dr. Afriye Akoto has declared his resolve to what he termed "resuscitate the New Patriotic Party(NPP)".
According to him, the spirit of the rank and file of the party within the 275 constituencies required revamping and that is exactly what he is in the presidential race to do.
The Immediate past Minister for Food and Agriculture who for his role played to step up food security has earned the admiration of farmers and some stakeholders within the agricultural value-chain.
In view of that, the same group of individuals has today picked the nomination form for his candidature.
According to the group, Dr. Afriye Akoto had done remarkably well therefore deserves to be given the nod.
The nomination was picked on his behalf by a group that has rooted for his candidature.
Addressing the press after picking the form, the spokesperson, Dr. Prince A. Amuzu indicated that farmers and delegates who deemed the output of Dr. Akoto fit have decided to assist and encourage him and for which reason the form had been picked.
He was hopeful Dr. Akoto's candidature would breed prosperity through Agriculture.
Receiving the form, Dr. Afriye Akoto hinted that the advent of running to the International Monitary Fund(IMF) at every least challenge will become a thing of the past.
He said the Agricultural sector is the only sector that can boast of both the production and service sector.
Dr. Afriye Akoto believes that no nation can develop with over reliance on other nations for assistance therefore what can bridge that gap is the agriculture.
He appealed to the delegates to pride the self reliance of the country and vote massively for him to become the flag bearer of NPP.
