THE INDEPENDENT contender in the Madina Parliamentary election, Mr Prince Moses Zakaria
THE INDEPENDENT contender in the Madina Parliamentary election, Mr Prince Moses Zakaria, has responded to the social media viral report suggesting that he is contesting the election, ostensibly to destroy the votes of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina Constituency, Honourable Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu not to win the seat in the 2024 general election for his second terms.

The famous Ghanaian young entrepreneurer stressed that his decision to contest the election stems from the calling by some traditional and religious leaders within the constituency as well as teeming supporters principally from the NDC cum the NPP within the Madina Constituency.
This clarion call has become necessary because majority of the constituents have lost confidence in the Member of Parliament for the area.
Particularly, majority of the NDC membership in the Madina Constituency are hopeful that it will take Prince Moses Zakaria to take up the seat.
Zak as he is affectionately called, said the supporters and members of the NDC in the Madina Constituency realized that Honourable Sosu would definitely loss the seat, thinking since he still has NDC blood in him it would be safe or good if he contests the election independently to win the Madina seat rather than the seat should to be won by the ruling New Patriotic Party's (NPP) parliamentary candidate.

Speaking in an interview with Original 91.9FM, on Thursday January 11, 2024,  Zak stressed that although he has declared his intention to contest the Madina parliamentary seat as an independent candidate, the NDC is ingrained in him.
Mr Zakaria confirmed that "in any of his campaign tour in the fifteen (15) electoral areas within the Madina constituency he campaigns vigorously for the flagbearer of the NDC, former President John Dramani Mahama by way of encouraging the eligible voters to vote skirt and blouse in the 2024 general elections.

Mr Zakaria stressed that he endorsed the second presidential ambition of former President John Dramani Mahama.
He added that he urged the voters in Madina to consider voting massively for the NDC presidential candidate in the 2024 polls and strongly vote for him as an independent candidate to win the seat or else the seat would be won by the NPP, registering their displeasure against the abysmal performance of Honourable Sosu.
He said the majority of the constituents are livid at the legislator for using his office to throw away death penalty.
He noted that they have inveighed against the lawmaker for his negligence and continued disregard to the inputs of the constituents through a stakeholder fora for all the private member bills he has sponsored.
He said the constituents have accused the lawmaker of neglecting the people who campaigned and voted for him, stressing that his attitude is making the party unpopular in the constituency, citing his family and friends centred leadership.
He asserted that the constituents have expressed fret over what they have described as “gross disrespect and divisive attitude” of the MP and have urged the youth in the area to rise up and join forces against him in the 2024 general election.
He admitted that although he served as General Secretary of the United Front Party, whatever agenda and policies spearheaded by the UFP are purely in favour of the NDC since the records have showed that UFP formed progressive alliance with the NDC, citing exemples of several debates he has done in the Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) in favour of the NDC.
He expressed misgivings about the maltreatment meted out to him by NDC’s Greater Accra Regional Vetting Committee headed by the Deputy General Secretary, Madam Barbara Serwaa Asamoah.
He cited the way and manner the committee seized his NDC membership card after the vetting which disqualified and axed him out of the NDC.
He noted that he has been loyal and an active member of the NDC since 1998, but officially became a card bearing Member in 2013, adding that "l have served NDC in all my life."
Prince Moses Zakaria is poised becoming the next Member of Parliament for the Madina Constituency to set up Electoral Area Development Committees in each of the 15 electoral areas of the constituency to complement the municipal assembly's effort to prosecute the much needed developments.
He promises to set up a welfare fund, remain very accessible to the constituents and carry out series of youth Empowerment programmes plus the performance of his Parliamentary task aptly.
