High Cost Of Transportation Fares Affecting Our Sales -Water -Mellon Farmer's Cries.

The Nkoranza South branch of Watermelon Farmers Association branch at Nkoranza South Municipality in the Bono East Region has disclosed their displeasure over transport fare hike in the country. 

Speaking to Kwame Antwi, a watermelon farmer in the area, they explained that, they have produce more acres of land of watermelons but buyers are unavailable to purchase them.all because of hikes in the transportation fares facing the country. 

According to the aggrieved farmers, due to the hike of petroleum in the world, market prices which has also been affected by other countries which Ghana cannot be left out is the cause buyers from Greater Accra region and other parts of the country are unable to co complete me and purchases their watermelon produced.

The farmers in their appeal has called on the ruling government to do something about the prices of fuels for buyers to be able to purchase their commodities as they are rotten for lack of supplies.

They added that, the government should provide them with local factory to process their ripped watermelon commodity so that it can ease the challenges they are facing in the Municipality as the farmers claim they are into large production of the watermelon. 

They finally concluded that, because buyers are not coming, it's making their work become futile but took the opportunity to urged market women to come for their production.
