Akyem Queen Mothers Canvass for Madam Gifty Asare as MCE 

The Queen Mothers' Association in the Kwaebibirem Municipality says they will leave no stone unturned to fix the Municipality in the shortest time since the male counterparts have woefully failed the Municipality on developmental projects.

The Queen mothers' Association of Akyem, in the Kwaebibirem Municipality, are working assiduously to campaign for the approval of Madam Gifty Asare, the only female contender among, for the Kwaebibrem Municipal Chief Executive position in the eastern region of Ghana.

The group, led by their president, queen mother of Akyem Bomso; Ohemaa Nimaah II, opined that the Municipality has suffered immensely under the watch of many male MCEs, which has really affected the progress of the Municipality.

Adding that it is time for the New Patriotic Party to demonstrate the gender balance, as well as equality of humanity without favour and she believes, the ladies will leave no stone unturned to fix the Municipality in the shortest time since the male counterparts have woefully failed the Municipality on developmental projects.

Adonkronohemaa, who is also the secretary to the Association narrated, that the New Patriotic Party has never appointed a female candidate as the DCE or MCE in the Municipality since it was created.

Nana Abena Asieduwaa challenged the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to this time approved Gifty Asare, as the Municipal Chief Executive for the next 4  years, assuring that it is the only way to improve the standard of living for the people. She further stressed that the men have underperformed for the past two and half decades leaving the municipality far behind in development.

The members numbering six were hosting a press briefing at Akyem Kade Palace to officially rally their support for Madam Gifty Asare as to this time take the seat as the Municipal Chief Executive.

The 6 queen mothers who attended the meeting this morning were from Kade, Akyem-Wenchi, Kumawu, Bonkrom, Nyehwee, Kunsu, Abodum and its nearby communities.
