She had just left the 2022 Ghana Music Awards UK in London when she was arrested.

Reports at the time of Hajia4Reall's arrest indicated that she was connected to a $8 million theft case in the United States.

After a drawn-out legal struggle that lasted for a year and a half, Hajia4Reall's attorney has now asked the judge for leniency, asking for a sentence of three months in jail followed by deportation to Ghana.

The attorney, in their appeal for clemency, contended that Hajia4Reall had been swayed by a fraudulent organisation and underlined her responsibility as a mother to take care of her daughter.

Her request is one of many that the court has received pleading for mercy in the form of letters and other papers.

Hajia is scheduled for a sentencing hearing in about one week after entering a guilty plea to fraud and money laundering.

If found guilty of cheating elderly, single American men and women out of over GH20 million in a corrupt lonely hearts scam, Haija 4reall might spend up to 20 years in prison.

Haija 4real, whose real name is Mona Faiz Montrage, 30, is facing charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, money laundering conspiracy, and money laundering. The maximum sentence for each of these counts is 20 years in prison.
