Ghana's President, Nana Akufo-Addo Dankwa has announced an end to the double track system for some senior high schools in the country.

Speaking in a nationwide televised address yesterday, January 1, the President said SHS 3 and SHS1 students will no longer be under the double track system.

However, he said for SHS 2 students in schools in which the double track system is operating, will still continue on the system.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has given the green light for Ghanaian students at all levels of education to return to schools..

Tertiary students will return to lecture halls from Saturday, Janurary 9, 2021.

Basic school students from Kindergarten (KG) to Junior High School (JHS) will resume their classroom activities from Friday, January 15, 2020.

Senior High School Students (SHS) will go back to school in March 2021.

However, final year SHS students are expected back in the classroom on January 18, 2021
