Nevertheless, he has no intention of giving up because the words "giving up" do not exist in his language.

Alordia refuted the notion that planning such events is simple in a chat with Graphic Showbiz during the recently launched 7th edition of GMA-UK at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.

"Many people believe that planning such events is simple, but without funding, I can assure you that it is quite difficult. A large sum of money is required to put on such a prominent event.

To make the event successful, you must pay for the location, a top-notch sound system, and an MC or other necessary personnel.

"We ran the event on our own for five years at the beginning, without any sponsorship. However, we appreciate that Tabea Herbal is serving as our title sponsor. They joined us last year and are still with us this time, he said.

Alordia, whose Alordia Promotions organizes GMA-UK, gave reasons for his passion for the awards ceremony, stating that many Ghanaian musicians benefit from the award program.

"Keep in mind that the prizes are given to UK performers as well as musicians from Ghana. The GH artists have collaborated with artists from other countries with great success. And GMA-UK has made significant contributions in the business world, and I'm glad to say that some of us were responsible, he continued.

The 2023 GMA-UK will take place in the Royal Regency Palace in the UK on October 7, and according to Alordia, his ensemble is more than prepared for the occasion

"When the event happens on October 7, we will be fully prepared." We learn from our mistakes and get better each year, so we think this year's edition will be outstanding. The pieces are all in place. GMA-UK won't ever go away or shut down; instead, we expand year," he said.

On the evening, 42 prizes will be given out in all. Shatta Wale, Black Sherif, King Promise, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and Piesie Esther are some of the competitors in the Artiste of the Year category.

While Piesie Esther, Akwaboah Jn., Epixode, Fameye, Ewura Abena, and Black Sherif are vying for Songwriter of the Year, Medikal, Amerado, Eno Barony, Lyrical Joe, Strongman, and Sarkodie are up for Best Rapper.

Other categories include Best Music Video, Best Male and Female Vocalist, and Most Dominant Fan Base of the Year.
