Ghana Music Awards25: Anniversary launch, unveiling of nominees on March 28

Following the sale of Vodafone, which has sponsored the awards program for more than ten years, the occasion will also mark the formal announcement of the nominees and the main sponsor for this year's event.

25th Anniversary Launch

The Ghana Music Awards have become into the biggest and most esteemed occasion in the country's entertainment calendar. The awards program has taken on a pivotal role in the music business since its inception in 2000. The goal has been straightforward: to recognize, honor, and identify exceptional contributions made to the music industry.

The program consists of an Academy comprised of DJs, presenters, producers, and similar individuals, a board composed of industry professionals, and the general public. The program has preserved Ghanaian music, culture, and people for 24 years. On Thursday, March 28, 2024, the industry's leading lights, the media, musicians, and music producers will be there for the 25th anniversary launch.  

Unveiling of Nominees

The board, research team, and GMA secretariat have been carefully examining the 2023 works since the submission deadline. This procedure entails careful listening, evaluations, and in-depth examinations of the information, lyrics, and production value. 

Artists and their fans are ecstatic and full of expectation, hoping that their names will be among the select few. The nominees stand for the greatest in each of the industry's several music categories.

The Twist: The 25th anniversary follows a different path than previous years, when the majority of the categories are revealed throughout the day, hour by hour. At the ceremony, all categories will be revealed. Who enters which category? Which performer creates history? Each of these will be answered on Thursday, 28th March.

Announcement of new headline sponsor 

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) got their name since Vodafone Ghana sponsored the event for a few years during its 25th anniversary. It is hardly surprising that discussions have started when it was revealed that Vodafone will now become Telecel. The Ghana Music Awards are being impacted by the name change, according to industry players. Has the title sponsor changed? Now, what name will it go by? The announcement from the sponsor is scheduled for Thursday, March 28, 2024.

At this event, some of the best musicians in Ghana will perform in exhilarating ways.
