Ghana is not going IMF-Deputy Finance Minister

Following the rising cost of living in Ghana with the attendance hardship, the Deputy Finance minister was asked if Ghana would seek assistance from the IMF.

Deputy Minister of Finance, Honourable John Kumah has stated that Ghana is not going to the International Monetary Fund(IMF) for any bailout.

The Deputy Finance Minister disclosed this on the floor of Parliament today, Wednesday,22 June 2022 while answering questions after the substantive minister was relieved to take a leave.

Honorable Kojo Asante, MP for Suhum wanted to know if Ghana would be seeking assistance from the IMF but the Deputy Finance Minister said the government does not have plans to seek any assistance as of now.

He indicated that the government would not be going to IMF but would rather be committed to policies that would ensure proper fiscal measures and use of funds.
