Ghana Fire Service trains personnel in effective leadership management

The Human Resource Development and Training Department of the Ghana National Fire Service has commenced a two (2) day workshop on Effective Leadership Management for some selected Metropolitan, Municipal and District Fire Commanders drawn from the nineteen (19) Administrative Regions of the Service at the National Headquarters in Accra. 

The workshop which started today Tuesday 26th April 2022 is expected to come to an end on Wednesday of April 2022. Topics such as Customer Care in the Service Industry, Emotional Intelligence, Ethics in Leadership, Organizational Skills and Delegation skills and Effective Leadership will be treated by the participants. 

In a speech read on behalf of the Chief Fire Officer by the Director of Welfare who also doubles as the second in command of the Service, Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO) Tony Gomez, ledged the important role human resources plays in the success of any organization which the Ghana National Fire Service is no exception.  “To improve our organizational efficiency, management has outlined vigorous programs to periodically organize training for all officers and men of the Service” he revealed. 

The external facilitator for the workshop is the renowned management consultant Mr. Franklin Benefo and also in attendance is the Director of Human Resource Development and Training Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO) Gifty Sarpong Mensah, Deputy Director of Human Resource, Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO) Harriet Nunoo and Assistant Director of Human Resource Divisional Officer Grade One (DOI) Patrick Sallah
