Huge unidentified items lost, as storey building belonging to Chinese nationals burnt into ashes

A story building within the Liugong company limited, a company owned by Chinese located at new Biakoyeden, a community in the Obuasi municipal assembly had burnt into ashes today.

The cause of the outbreak is yet to ascertain, meanwhile, the inferno which was recorded around 5:30 am Thursday, February 17, has caused a huge loss to the Chinese nationals.

The building which comprised twelve rooms burnt to ashes without retaining any belonging.

Speaking to Vida Antwi, kitchen attendant, she stressed that, a loud voice was heard from one of the Chinese women shouting for help but before they got to the second floor the fire has already escalated but they manage to rescue her.

Currently, twelve (12) rooms together with the entire belonging to the Chinese have been burnt to ashes beyond recognition.

She said, the company deals in selling and repairing excavators and other mining equipment, including a supermarket that serves a huge number of Chinese and Ghanaians as well.

Mr. Oppong Daniel, manager, Liugong company limited disclosed items lost and the cause of the Outbreak.

He disclosed that Gold, money, home appliance,s, and clothes were all burnt into ashes .adding that, the main meter on the second floor of the building tortured and exploded in the process leading to the outbreak.

"It was sad because some of the persons went out naked to save their lives, as u can see the attire they are wearing is all they have for now", he told soireenews.

He advised the general public to be vigilant when dealing with a fire in homes and workplaces in general.

Edmund Afoakwa, a resident of the area is pleading with the two MMDCEs within Obuasi to lobby for additional fire tenders to curb unforeseen circumstances. " I learned The only tender in  Obuasi had to spoil so we have to rely on AGA's own in the early hours before we were assisted by Bekwai district tender, the fire would have been doused if Obuasi tender was in good shape.
