The First trustee of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) Tipper Truck Drivers Association, Sunyani, Suleman Issah has advised all drivers to cover loaded cars to avoid accidents.

He said, despite series of advice given to drivers to this effect, some of them fail to adhere to the instructions.

Explaining further, the 1st trustee indicated that, his outfit has observed with great concern how some Tipper Truck Drivers have been contributing to road crashes as a result of their negligence.

He said, failure on the Tipper Truck Drivers to cover the moving trucks loaded with query dust, gravels among others put their colleague drivers plying the road at risk as the falling materials from the truck can block their views whiles driving causing accidents.

Mr Suleman has therefore called on the MTTD to beef up its inspection at various check points to enforce this.

Mr Suleman further stressed that the association will at the end of this month ensure that, all drivers will cover their loaded cars.

“Any driver who fails to do that will be handed over to the police," he said.

He, therefore, advised all drivers to adhere to the orders so that "we can fight the rampant accidents on our roads."
