A man believed to be in his mid-40s and a farmer has committed suicide by hanging at Tinkong, a Community in Akuapem North Municipality in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

The deceased identified only as Donkor and well known as Odo, was found hanging on an orange tree in a nearby house in the community on Tuesday evening around 6:00 pm.

He allegedly hanged himself with rope made up of a mosquito net intertwined with a rag.

The body has been conveyed by Adawso Police to the Tinkong Mortuary after taken inventories of the scene of the crime.

An eyewitness, identified as Maa Abena told the media, that the deceased was noticed hanging on an orange tree by some children who were playing football near the crime scene.

She opined, that the late Donkor became very sick and was almost bedridden for some time but his wife took him to hospital and herbal centres until he recovered.

However, after recovering from his illness, he became a habitual drunkard and was consuming a lot of alcohol, by been considered an addict until his saddened demise.

The late Donkor left behind a wife and five children.
