A clinical psychologist at the Bono Regional Hospital, Mrs Evelyn Osei Agyapong, has said the hearing of strange voices to commit suicide is a mental challenge that needs medical attention.

Contributing to Ark FM’s Afisem show monitored by Soiree News on the topic “Suicide”, she stressed that persons who commit suicide go through series of stages including self-isolation, numbness, and at critical state hearing of voices, before engaging in the act.

Mrs. Agyapong said all these stages need medical attention and called on all who go through them to seek help from the mental health department.

“You will be hearing voices like, why don’t you kill yourself, why don’t you separate yourself from the masses, can’t you see you are of no importance, among others, ringing through your mind”, she said.

Mrs. Osei Agyapong urged all to make it a habit to visit the mental health department regularly to avoid these things happening to them to the extent of them considering suicide.
