Fanteakwa South DCE gets one touch confirmation with 100 percent endorsement
Honourable Ernest Ofosu

The newly-nominated District Chief Executive (DCE) by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for Fanteakwa South District in the Eastern Region, Ernest Ofosu got one-touch confirmation with 100 per cent endorsement on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

Mr Ofosu was in jubilation after the electoral commission announced confirmation by Assembly Members.

Addressing the gathering after the polls, Mr Ofosu explained his surprise by the huge score.

"I knew that I will be confirmed but wouldn't be as huge as that and thanks to the Assembly members and government appointees for their gesture".

He, therefore, pledged not to let his people down but do all to their hopes and expectations. He pointed out that he would make sure to continue all the community social intervention projects and programmes his predecessors had leftover.

He stated that he would prioritise job creations for the teaming unemployment in the area.

"The youth had dominated the population in Ghana for which majority of them do not have job to do," he said.

"The Fanteakwa South District was not exempted from this national problem. So having appointed the DCE of the area I am going to operate an open-door policy by way not to sit at my office to wait for the people or youth to come and tell me their problems before l would look for alternative measures to solve them.

"But l am going to make that l go round within my district to find out what exactly the constituents want or need so after all these l would find means and ways to solve their problems accordingly," he stressed.

According to him, the area is a mining prone area saying that President said he did not restrict small scale mining but he was against irresponsible mining activities.

Following this development, the DCE  assured that they would ensure how better they can make small scale mining activities more attractive to the youth in the area.

He asserted that the youth who are unemployed would be given the opportunity to be enrolled in the community mining activities programme to help them make living.

He noted that a policy will be designed to ensure the youths were giving job skills training programmes which would help to empower them to become responsible future leaders.
