Executive Director of Ghana Blind Union has Urged Parents and Individuals Not to Apply Herbal Medicine on Blind Person Eye.

According to Dr Peter Obeng the union has received a lot of information on how parents and individuals normally use unprescribe medicine on blind person's eyes, therefore advised parents to report any eye challenges facing their children to the appropriate health centers in the country to reduce blind cases.

The Executive Director for Ghana Blind Union, Dr. Peter Obeng Asamoah has urged parents and individuals across the country to avoid using a herbal medicine on a blind person eye because it causes a major problem among blind people.

According to Dr Peter Obeng the union has received a lot of information on how parents and individuals normally use unprescribe medicine on blind person's eyes, therefore advised parents to report any eye challenges facing their children to the appropriate health centers in the country to reduce blind cases.

He added that, stakeholders and opinion leaders should report any blind cases to the social welfare department for any assistance.

He disclose this during an interview after the union held stakeholders sensitization seminar at Bechem in the Tano South Municipal of Ahafo Region.

He again used the opportunity to reveal that, Ghana Blind Union together with Vision Ghana have put the necessary measures in place to sensitise the general public and parents on the need for their visually impaired children to be educated in various communities across the country hence they should be send to school.
