The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has announced plans to hold a Ghana Music Festival every December as part of their efforts to promote Ghanaian music.

Every December, MUSIGA will hold a festival to support GH music

The event would draw music lovers and people from the diaspora throughout the holiday season, according to Bessa Simons, President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), in a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz.

Regarding the festival's ability to improve Ghanaian music and increase its appeal on a national and worldwide level, he was upbeat.

Every December, we intend to have a Ghanaian music festival for the enjoyment of tourists and guests. This festival, which promises to be enormous, will feature music from all throughout Ghana.

Thus, let's accept our music, listen to it, become accustomed to it, download it, and help out our local musicians," he continued.

He emphasized that it is everyone's duty to promote a deeper appreciation for Ghanaian music and urged people to actively participate in and celebrate their cultural heritage throughout the year.

"We want all radio stations to play more music from Ghana. As we listen to our music more frequently, it becomes more and more ingrained in our system, increasing our enjoyment of it. It doesn't have to be only December”, he advised.

In an effort to highlight Ghana's rich musical and cultural legacy to visitors, Bessa Simons also revealed plans to present musicians and cultural troupes at several tourist destinations around the nation.

He stated that tourists should be allowed to experience music and dance as well as the physical beauty of the destinations, as they were being deprived of these cultural enrichment opportunities.
