Richarlison puts Everton in front with a glancing header

Sheffield United missed the chance to move above Wolverhampton Wanderers into seventh place as they lost 1-0 against Everton at Bramall Lane.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin came close to putting his side in front when he headed Theo Walcott's cross off a post from close range two minutes before the break.

Richarlison gave the Blues the lead less than a minute after the restart, glancing Gylfi Sigurdsson's free-kick into the bottom-left corner.

Calvert-Lewin might have doubled the Toffees' advantage, but was thwarted one-on-one by Dean Henderson.

Sheff Utd's best chance of an equalizer fell to George Baldock, but the defender headed over from six yards.

Defeat leaves the Blades eighth with 54 points, four fewer than Tottenham Hotspur and two points shy of Wolverhampton Wanderers, who play Crystal Palace later this evening.

A first win in five matches means Everton stay 11th and have 49 points with one match to play.
