End Ghana's  Continual Provocation Against Western Togolanders-Republic of Western Togoland Writes To UN

In a statement signed and issued from the Information and Communications Directorate of Republic of Western Togoland to the Secretary-General of United Nations, New York, USA, the group stressed that "we are through your Highly Esteemed Office warning Ghana to stop arresting our citizens within the confines of our boundary."

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

SOLICITING SUPPORT TO END GHANA'S CONTINUAL PROVOCATIONS AGAINST WESTERN TOGOLANDERS

Dear Sir

On this 10th December occasion of the UN HUMAN RIGHTS DAY observances, a declaration promulgated at the 1948 General Assembly, of which Ghana is a signatory, and with todays observance THEME being "DIGNITY, FREEDOM, JUSTICE FOR ALL", a very fitting theme for Western Togolanders (aka British Togolanders), we wish to draw your attention to the fact that your member State Ghana, has shown absolutely no respect for the declaration nor the theme for today's observances. 

We also wish to reiterate that it was UN's juvenile mistakes in the early days of its formation that contributed to the plireiterate that it was UN's juvenile mistakes in the early days of its formation that contributed to the plight of Western Togolanders  to date. 

Having now assumed a senior citizenship status...it turned 75 last year.....it is fitting to urge that it should hasten to correct its juvenile mistakes like the Western Togoland issue. The details are given below.

Since the combined lawless actions of Britain and France against Togolanders during the first World War(WW1), the subsequent lawless handing over of Western Togoland to Nkrumah for lawless, brutal and murderous integration into her Gold Coast/Ghana, and the successive illicit exploitations of the human and natural resources of Western Togoland to further the development of their Gold Coast colony and later Ghana, any protests by Western Togolanders to further their internationally recognized inalienable right to SELF DETERMINATION had been met with brutal repression by the ILLEGAL OCCUPIERS including murders of leading Western Togolanders and their Kings, including the imminent leader Dr. Armattoe who received standing ovation at the UN after speaking to our independence issue. 

Western Togolanders had never participated in that European tribal war. Why should they be victims of that war for over 108 years? 

On December 13, 1956, the United Nations which assumed TRUSTEESHIP responsibility for the resultant two Territories from the split of Togoland by the French and English, mandated Britain to grant independence to Western Togoland so it could form a POLITICAL UNION with Gold Coast when it became independent, since only INDEPENDENT nations could enter into such union. 

Britain was ill-prepared for the mandate, contained in UN Resolution 1044(X1) of December 13, 1956. Why? Because it failed to comply with the 1946 UN Trusteeship Agreement to, among other things, establish structures that would inure to the benefits of Western Togoland's independence. 

The purpose of the UN Trusteeship agenda is INDEPENDENCE for the Trust Territories. So while France complied with the agenda and thus making Eastern Togoland(French Togoland) a free country today, Britain unilaterally decidedly refused to do so but had misled the UN to believe she had complied. And the world body neglected to carry out her due diligence responsibilities. Why? Because Britain was a superpower and one of their primary breadwinners. 

Britain in her acknowledgements admitted to unfair exploitation of Western Togolanders in that it took more from them than they benefitted. Robbing Western Togolanders to develop Gold Coast! And she handed over that over-exploitation baton to Nkrumah and then to successive Ghanaian political leaders to date. Sadly this included Western Togoland's own son....J.J. Rawlings, whom many consider as a traitor to Western Togoland. 

The Trusteeship Agreement had a  clause that prohibited the exploitation of Western Togoland's natural resources. The goal was and still is, that once the people(Western Togolanders) gain their independence, they would need those resources to develop their country. 

But the condition attached to the prohibition...that is getting agreement from the citizens for any natural resources exploitation...is what is problematic. Under these severe economic hardships, it's easy to dole out peanuts to some already hungry kings and their subjects to get that cheap consent. 

Here is where Western Togoland leadership is making concerted efforts to educate ALL the kings of the land that the natural resources of the land do not belong to them. They are only custodians with entitlements to certain royalties.

 The natural resources belong to the ENTIRE WESTERN TOGOLAND which alone has the sole power of the right to exploitation. So any king or individual that receives money from any exploiter can be treated as a traitor.

To this end, we are through your most esteemed office, giving the Government of Ghana or any such exploiter working in collaboration with the Ghana government a clear warning that, WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF ITS PROVOCATIONS.

Ghana has been pushing our backs to the wall for over 65 years! 

It illegally arrested, tortured and killed our people for no justification at all... people demonstrating to announce their inalienable right to SELF-DETERMINATION a declaration Ghana is a signatory to, and keeping some in jails without trial for over 2 years.

 *Your member state Ghana has been striking where it hurts us most, and we feel very strongly that it's time for the world body to call Ghana to account for her atrocities against us and illegal exploitations of our resources.

 1. To that end, we join our voices to Ghana's PEACE COUNCIL  to without delay, unconditionally release ALL WESTERN TOGOLANDERS in her jails.

2. Secondly we join our voices to that of our beloved Catholic Bishop A.A. Mante of Jasikan, to RESIST ANY TEMPTATION TO ILLEGALLY EXPLOIT WESTERN TOGOLAND'S NATURAL RESOURCES.

When your member state Ghana illegally exploited our Volta River...which was the PRIMARY REASON Western Togoland was BRUTALLY, MURDEROUSLY  and LAWLESSLY integrated into  Gold Coast/Ghana...for over 30 years Western Togolanders never benefitted from the electricity and clean water generated for the people of your member state…..Ghanaians! And still to date...well over 59 years since the Akosombo Dam, we have many homes across Western Togoland which are without electricity and treated water! 

So nobody should fool Western Togolanders now that their exploitative actions will inure  to their benefits. We have our plans and strategy to harness our human and natural resources to 100% benefit our people.

3. Finally we are through your Highly Esteemed Office warning Ghana to stop arresting our citizens within the confines of our boundary.

FOR THE SAKE OF PEACE, WE HAVE SAT QUIETLY TO SEE GHANA TREAT US IN THIS PROVOCATIVE AND LAWLESS MANNER TO DATE. WE HAD HOPED YOUR OFFICE WOULD INTERVENE BY CALLING GHANA TO ORDER. WE HAD ALSO HOPED YOUR OFFICE WOULD DO THE NEEDFUL TO RIGHT THE WRONGS BRITAIN AND GHANA  HAD DONE TO US. YET NO ACTIONS FROM YOUR OFFICE TO DATE.

Sir, we would like to remind you that patience has its limits.

We are therefore sincerely appealing to your office and through your office to   ALL world peace and freedom-loving countries, institutions and individuals to support Western Togolanders' right to SELF-DETERMINATION.
