Barcelona lost their first El Clasico of the season by 3-1 at the Camp Nou.

Goals from Valverde, Sergio Ramos spot-kick and a third from Modric wrapped it up for the Los Blancos;  Ansu Fati consolation was Barcelona's 300th goal in the El Clasico.

It was a dream start for Real Madrid as early as the 5-minute when Valverde scored the opening goal.

Barcelona's defenders were all over the shop as Karim Benzema picked up the ball and fed the onrushing Fede Valverde, who had all the time in the world to pick his spot and fire the ball past Neto.

Three minutes later, Ansu Fati levelled the scores to become the youngest goalscorer in the El Clasico history.

Jordi Alba sprung the offside trap down the left, brought the ball down and found Ansu Fati, who made no mistake from the edge of the six-yard box.

The homes side took control after settling comfortably in the game.

Messi’s presence was felt in the 24-minute rolled his left foot over the ball to beat Ramos and looked certain to score inside the box yet Courtois flung himself across the goal and pushed the right-footed effort away at the near post.

The dingdong battle kept stirring to interest the game.

Karim Benzema’s had an effort to put Madrid forward again but his shot lacked direction. Toni Kroos played the ball into the penalty area from the left for the Frenchman but he couldn’t direct it into the corner before Neto dived to his left and gathered the ball. 

Sergio Dest made two big tackles in quick succession five minutes to half time to keep Blaugranas in the game. The first one stopped Casemiro who stride into the box and looked to find a shooting opportunity, he then gets up quickly to throw himself in front of Benzema's effort as the ball bounced kindly for the Frenchman.

Benzema had the chance to wrap his foot around the ball and bend it into the far corner on the edge of the box in the second half but unfortunately got it all wrong and ballooned his effort way over the bar. 

Sergio Ramos scored Madrid’s second from the spot after Lenglet pulled Ramos shirt in the box to force him on the floor. The captain made no mistake and beat Neto, despite the keeper guessing the right way.

Modric added a third in the 90-minute when Vinicius burst into the box and as Neto dive at his feet, the ball rebounded to Rodrygo on the edge of the box who squared to Modric. 

The midfielder kept his goal, side-stepped Neto and then guided the ball past a couple of defenders before smashing the ball into the net with the outside of his boot.
