The 2020/21 first leg of El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid has been confirmed to take place on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at the Camp Nou.

The fixture will mark the first time meeting of Zidane and Ronald Koeman, who took over from Quique Setien.

Real Madrid amassed four points from the two legs of last season’s Clasico after the first ended 0-0 at the Camp Nou when Ernesto Valverde was coach before Vinicius Junior and Mariano Diaz gave the home side a 2-0 win on March 1 at the Bernabeu facing the coronavirus outbreak.

Los Blancos are on top of the La Liga table with 10 points having played four out of five games whiles Barcelona sit fifth with seven points, two short of the five games played.

Madrid will play Cadiz on Saturday before engaging Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday. They will then enter into the Clasico with two days serving as a rest for them.

Meanwhile, when the Blaugranas play Getafe on Saturday, their Champions League fixture will be honoured on Tuesday night with Ferencvaros, giving them three resting days before the titanic encounter between the two Spanish giants.

In all, 181 La Liga Clasicos have been played between the two, Real Madrid have 73 wins and Barcelona, 72.
