Edina Traditionalist Mounts Pressure On Elmina Fishing Harbour Authority To Employ Locals To Work In The Harbour

The Nguadohen of Edina Traditional Area, Nana Kweku Amissah l, has called on government and management of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority to consider local expertise in employing staff to work at the yet to be commissioned Elmina Fishing Harbour.

According to him, the people of Elmina possess valuable knowledge and expertise that can greatly benefit the success of the harbour.

Nana Kweku Amissah added that by employing locals, "we can ensure that the unique needs and challenges of the community are met, and that the harbor operates in the best interest of everyone."

"As a stakeholder and member of the Edina Traditional Council, I strongly urge the government to prioritize the employment of locals in the management and operations of the newly constructed fishing harbor. This is not only an opportunity for job creation, but  also a chance to empower and uplift the community. My immediate goal is to use all of my contacts and goodwill to make this the reality,"he sated.
