Workers of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) say they don’t want a contract extension for their Managing Director, Mr. Kwame Agyeman-Budu who has reportedly attained the mandatory retirement age of 60 years.

The workers led by their Divisional Executive Committee of ECG Senior and Junior Staff of the Public Utility Workers Union(PUWU)of TUC-Ghana are calling for the immediate exit of the MD.
Addressing a press conference in Accra today
the General Secretary of PUWU, Mr. Michael Adumatta Nyantakyi said the MD has refused to stay away and continue to parade himself as MD and singing official documents even though he has reached the the60-year mandatory retirement on February 21, 2021

According to him, the requested removal of Mr. Kwame Agyeman Budu from office as Managing Director is due to poor performance mostly in the areas of technical and financial operations which is gradually sinking the ECG.
