The President of Dominion University College, Prof.Nicholas N.N Nsowah-Nuamah, has urged the students graduated from the University not to associate themselves with the negative influential people in their personal lives.
"The graduated students should be mindful of the people they associate themselves with as they may have either positive or negative influence on your life. Always, be mindful of that popular adage that ‘bad association corrupts good morals," Prof. Nsowah-Nuamah advised.
He advised graduands to be mindful that negative or unhealthy influences can generally impede their progress in the future.
 
Prof. Nicholas Nsowah Nuamah gave this foregoing advise when he was addressing  graduands of the Dominion University College 6th graduation ceremony held on Saturday April 15, 2023 in Accra.
The university has held its 6th graduation on Saturday in Accra with a charge on graduands to uphold integrity, character and workplace competence.
This congregation cover graduands who completed their studies in the university during the 2020/2021 academic year.
A total of 118 students graduated (69 males and 49 females) were awarded Bachelor degree certificates.
Of this number,10 had first class, (7 males and 3 females),50 had second class upper, 41 had second class lower, 13 had third class and
4 had pass.
These graduands are young men and women who out of dint of hard work have distinguished themselves and therefore, must be crowned with success.
Professor Nsowah-Nuamah in his address advised the graduads that "You should always remember that a lot of resources, both human and financial have been committed into your training."
"Therefore, I charge you to go out there and commit yourself to hard, dedicated and honest work to justify the huge investment made towards your training. 
"Also, do not forget that the world today belongs to people who challenged the status quo and were determined to make a paradigm shift from the conventional ways of doing things for better.To be able to do this, certain personal resolutions are crucial," he further advised.
He stressed the need for the students graduated to be conscious of their time and ensure that it is used only on productive ventures. 
He emphasized that "This is because as you know, time is a resource that cannot be replaced when lost. Therefore, use it judiciously.
He noted that the graduads should take advantage of the various opportunities offered "by today’s changing world by looking round to identify these opportunities and use them to your advantage."
"Never forget your background rather, be humbled by it and let your training have a positive reflection on you and all those you will be associated with," he noted.
He congratulated the graduands and wished the Lord’s blessing for their future endeavors.
He noted that with hard work, integrity, dedication and humility, everybody could achieve greater heights in life, regardless of their socio-economic background.
He announced that the postgraduate school started in earnest last year with Master’s and a PhD programme in statistics.  
According to him, the University College has submitted to Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) some MBA programmes in Marketing, HR and Finance as well as PhD in Business Administration and Doctor of Business Administration. 
He mentioned that the University is re-orienting its academic programmes towards competency-based training.
 This, according to Professor Nsowah-Nuamah, is aim to create the Dominion Personality of graduates who would be equipped with practical training to make a difference at their various workplaces. 
On the statistics of staffing, he noted that 
Mr. Hayford Amegbe one of our staff members who was granted study leave to undergo a PhD programme in Marketing in South Africa, has completed and is awaiting graduation.
"Next year we are expecting another staff member to complete a PhD in Theology from Korea. We have started beefing up our staffing and we have just employed a PhD holder in Business Administration," he diclosed.
Professor Nsowah-Nuamah pointed out that 
the he institution had to quickly move to its uncompleted building at East Legon due to some challenges  
Thankfully, he mentioned that the management of the university had earlier invested heavily in e-learning technologies and that made it possible for lectures to go uninterruptedly for the rest of the semester. 
"The good thing is that we have recovered and face to face lectures are now taking place. This affected the institutions re-accreditation which in turn affected enrolment," he explained.
He revealed that that the institutional re-accreditation had been obtained at the end of year 2022. 
"In our quest to forge greater collaboration with other research and academic institutions, both within and outside Ghana, the professor disclosed that the University College is trying to forge linkages with tertiary institutions in Korea and UK," he stated.
Dr Kirill Mostov, Co-founder of Scaanz Wyoming, USA, who was the Guest of Honour, advised the graduands to be relentless in seeking and acquiring knowledge and must use such knowledge to transform lives.

He urged them not to work in silos and be self-centred but adopt interdisciplinary collaboration in the fast-changing world that did not accept mediocrity and excuses.


During the occasion, the Dean of students at the Dominion University College,Mrs Herlin Mensah has been tasked to present the certificate to the overall best student, Edinam Be Tina Tefe at the 6th graduation ceremony.

For his part, the Dominion University College, a private university in Accra, has announced plans to establish an effective Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence (AI) to train and empower young men and women through Information technology (IT) and business opportunities, which is aimed at contributing towards the reduction of unemployment, among the youth and women in the country.
According to the Chairman of the University, Prof. Felix Nikoi Hammond, his outfit would be running the centre in partnership with some high profile organisations in the United States of America (USA) to empower future ready workforce through artificial intelligence education at Dominion University College.

"Critically the yet-to-be established centre which would be positioned in the premises of Dominion University College new ultramodern edifice at East Legon in Accra would be training our youths, women and girls and empower them in IT and business opportunities.
