The Minority leader in parliament, Haruna Iddrisu has called on Parliament to seize approving projects without adequate funds for its completion.

According to him, the government must put into action the public financial management act, saying contracts must not be initiated when there is no availability of enough funding for the commencement and completion of projects.

The Minority leader was speaking in the Volta regional capital, Ho on Sunday during the 2021 post-budget workshop.

He also added that the government must quickly continue projects that former president John Mahama was not able to complete before he left office.

He said, in order to protect the public purse, there must be a need to obey article 35 (7) of the 92 constitutions, thus continuing and completing projects started by the previous government.

He advocated that a law should be enacted to prevent governments from starting new projects for which they have not secured adequate funding.

He declared that will bind incumbent administrations from commencing new projects when old projects started by the previous government are not finished.
