Mr Eugene Sackey

The nominee for Upper West Akyem District Assembly as Chief Executive in the Eastern Region of Ghana, Mr Eugene Sackey has said he will never disappoint the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, and the New Patriotic Party if he is endorsed by Assembly members to continue for the second term in office.

Mr Eugene Sackey, who served from May 2017 to 2021 was NPP’s Parliamentary candidate for Upper West Akyem Constituency for 2012 and 2016 respectively but lost internal primaries when he attempted to contest for the third time.

In an interview with the media after his Renomination, Mr Sackey thanked the Party and the President for giving him another chance to serve and promised to continue the ongoing projects he started from 2021 to 2022 before tackling new projects.

He said Central Government policies and programs will also be his priority and called for support from the people in the district.

Mr Sackey was worried over the absence of Presiding Member for the Assembly since 2019 and said it has delayed projects in the District and no General Assembly meeting and Committee meetings have been held since 2019.

The Nominee urged the Assembly members to put aside party affiliation and interest and elect Presiding Member so they can go ahead with his endorsement as early as possible to continue ongoing projects.

Moreover, the Nominee called for calm ahead of the endorsement of the President Nominees and he was optimistic to get the massive endorsement from the Assembly members.
