As part of AngloGold Ashanti school celebrating its 60 years Diamond anniversary, the school through the Parent-Teacher Association and some students have donated items worth 70,000 Ghana cedis to three orphanage homes to ease hardship.

The items which include sugar, milk, clothes, soap, sandals, toilet rolls, mackerel, tin tomato, drinks, biscuits etc were donated to the Abdulam orphanage located at Obuasi Bediem, Patmos orphanage located at Tewobaabi in the Obuasi East District and Amadies orphanage at Fiankoma.

Soireenews in an exclusive interview with Mr Emmanuel Baidoo, Sustainability Manager of AngloGold Ashanti, Obuasi mine is optimistic about transforming lives in Adansi through AGA school.

He said a lot of measures is in place to ensure that the right thing is done for the good people of Adansi to gain Merrit through AGA school.

On his part, the Director for AGA school, Mr Peter Atta Cato, added that the school is in line with AGA to build an SHS in Obuasi to enhance education within Adansi.

He stressed that the main aim behind the donation was to impact the lives of the less privileged.

The director advised the general public to support orphanage homes in the country to gain more blessings.

The founder of Amadies orphanage, Comfort Amadie took the opportunity to thank the donors for the kind gesture.

She pleaded to the general public to support the orphanage home to eradicate crime and prostitution in the country.
