Domestic Violence: Antony Dropped From Brazil Squad
Antony has been removed from the Brazil squad after his ex-girlfriend accused him of threatening her while pregnant, damaging breast implants and cutting her finger

Manchester United forward, Antony, has been dropped from the Brazil squad for their World Cup qualifying fixtures.
This comes after fresh allegations made by by his ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, were published by UOL in his native country.
The Brazil FA issued a statement saying: ‘In order to safeguard the alleged victim, the player, the Brazilian national team and the CBF, the organisation informs that Antony has been removed from the Brazilian national team.’
In June, Antony released a statement insisting he had been falsely accused by Ms Cavallin of domestic violence.
On Monday, September 4, 2023, the player said he “trusts ongoing police investigations” to reveal the “truth about my innocence”.
Manchester United are yet to comment on the new allegations.
However, Brazil has taken the decision to replace Antony with Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus.
The Selecao will take on Bolivia and Peru this month.
