Deputy Trade Minister Outdoored Abrewatia of Achiece Abuasua In Akuapem

The Ankyease Royal Family of Amanokrom in the Akuapem Traditional Area has outdoored the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Akuapem North Constituency in the Eastern who doubles as the Deputy Minster for Trade and Industry, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei as the Abrewatia of Achiece Abuasua.

Per the traditions and customs of Akuapem as she is installed and outdoored the Abrewatia of Achiece Abuasua, she would now be called the name as Awo Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei.

Nana Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, hails from Akropong in the Akuapem North District of the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Addressing the gathering, Awo Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei thanked all the five divisional queen-mothers in Akuapem for their love they exhibited to her during her installation and outdooring  as Abrewatia of Achiece Abuasua.

According to her, the way and manner all the queen mothers had spoken about her installation have given her encouragement that they are ready to work with her also accept her into their fold.

Flanked by the Chief Executive Officer of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),Mrr Kwabena Kokofu, Asiamah-Adje noted that he can see from the demeanour of the queens that anytime she calls on them for support they would not let her down.

She pointed out that one of the issues that the queen mothers have made in their statements which need to be given urgent attention was the one that they advised to meet all the stakeholders to discuss on how to work together to governing the Akuapem Traditional Area which would help to bring the needed development to the area.

She asserted that the queens spoke on the high rate of teenage pregnancies in Akwapem Traditional Area.

She indicated that they further spoke extensively about the high rate of youths wee smokings at the place which is commonly called as gethtto.

She pointed that all the issues brought on the board by the Queen-mothers were not new to her and that it it the time for all and sundry to cone together to find sustainable or good solutions to address these press matters.

"Today if you are are saying that the police should go and swoop the gethtto and what they are doing in the gethtto is interesting to them, tomorrow they would look for another place to do same things that they were doing in the gethtto which was raid by the police officers," she noted.

"So what we need to do to stop this social canker is form rehabilitation programme which would help to change the mindset of the youths who are going to the ghettos to smoke hard drugs or wee.

"So we have develop another alternative measures to ensure that those youths who are engaging in these practices have another option which would prevent them from engaging in this practice," Awo Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei

She pointed out that she realized that there are other external factors which could influence mankind to engage in social vices or taking hard drugs.

She stressed that it is a high time for them to work together to help prevent the external factors which is leading the youths to join these groups of wee smokers or bad people in the society.

We would have to work hard to prevent more youths from joining to wee smoking groups.

The more we prevent the more youths from  joining the wee smokers, the better ways we find to alternative livelihoods programme to ensure the prevention of those who were already smoking the wee.

She pointed out there were the need for the establishment of the rehabilitation programme or centres for those already in smoking to change.

She said that we cannot use a month to solve the problems of the youths in the area, and "what l am here proposing today, it is means that we can adopt both short and long term measures to address these problems.

She said the entertainment features have changed, saying that previously when it is eight o'clock if you are a student who are you to watch some programme on television set.

"But today in the afternoon, there would be an advertisement on the television and radio platforms which are bad and they know for sure that these programmes are not meant for the children of the school going age," she noted.

She stressed the need for the traditional authorities in the Akwapem Traditional Area to ensure that they put measures in place to help address these external factors in the villages and towns in the area.

"We have to ensure the prevention of the programmes or practices that would expose our children to the bad behaviors. There must measures to ensure the total enforcement of our bye law to the extent that if you a child, it is not good to be seen in the certain situations even in the day and evening," she stressed.

For his part, Chief Executive Officer of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Hon Kwabena kokofu, described the the MP as a hard working personality who is bringing her business ideas on board to bring the needed development to Akwapem and its adjoining communities 

He advised the school children and the parents parents to be God fearing in their endeavours

He further urged children of school going age  to take their education seriously to enable them become useful citizens in future.
