Anwiam Dangombaline youth to Protest Against Gov’t Over Deplorable Road

Traditional authorities comprising of Imams of Anwiam Dangombaline, a community in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region have threatened to mobilise their subjects, particularly the youth to hit the streets with massive demonstration next week Monday over the bad road in the area.

According to them, the road from Kumasi Angloga Junction entering into the Anwiam- Dangombaline township is a complete death trap, and that the area is yet to see any major road construction.

“We are going to demonstrate on Monday to express our displeasure over the bad nature of road in our area. We are fed up with empty promises from the government.”

Mr. John Nketia, assemblymember of the area who spoke with SN24 News stated that most drivers fear to ply the road when it rains because the main bridge connecting the community is not in good shape and easily gets flooded.

According to him, the residents who live on that stretch of the road for years now have cried over the poor nature of their road and the drainage system of the area but nothing has been done.

Mr. John Nkatia narrated again that he has reported the matter to the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly countless times but nothing has been done.

Therefore, he will not be surprised if the youth protest against the government over the bad state of the roads in the community.
