Information gathered by soiree News indicates that a drinking spot operator has been shot to death by a friend known in Aperede as Kwame Dankwah, a hunter, over nonpayment of GHS 5.

According to a resident, who is a teacher in one of the basic schools in Aperede, Kwame Dankwa went to Ben, to inquire for retrieval of his five Ghana cedis which he lent him in the early hours of Friday, June 18, 2021.

The drinking spot operator (Ben) refused to pay the debt owed to Dankwah, but insisted, he had not borrowed any money from him, and immediately, passion began to ensued between the two friends.

Kwame Dankwah, who according to reports is known by residents as one of the best hunters in Aperede, a farming community in the Okere Constituency, the nearby town to the Okere district capital in the Eastern Region.

The teacher opined that the answer from Ben, now deceased, to Kwame Dankwah, the accused cheesed off by Ben’s conduct and suddenly pulled out a gun and shot him, twice in the chest.

His action drew attention and before residents of the Aperede community could apprehend him, he had bolted away.

Ben was, however, rushed to hospital for treatment through an available Taxi cap but was pronounced dead on arrival at Akuapem Mampong Government Hospital.
