'To comb Khartoum's streets,' Sudanese soldiers were sent out.

According to a military statement cited by multiple news outlets, including Saudi-owned Al Arabiya, the Sudanese army has declared that it will continue operations against the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RFS) in the capital, Khartoum, despite a plea from the adversarial forces for a 72-hour ceasefire.

According to Sudanese news outlet al-Mashhad al-Sudani, the army claimed to have initiated "intensive strikes" against RFS on Friday and noted that the operations will continue throughout Khartoum.

To carry out the "combing operations" in the capital, it was reported that thousands of soldiers had been sent out.

The army began posting videos of its soldiers on the city's streets on Friday morning.

A resident of Khartoum named Ahmed Mamoun shared images and video of soldiers guarding various streets in the capital.

Early on Friday, sounds of gunfire were heard in Khartoum, and the RSF accused the army of launching a "sweeping attack" on the capital.
