DCE Cuts Sod for construction of Small Community Water System and mechanised borehole for 2 communities at Banda  

The project, which consist of a Small Community Water System (SCWS) for the people of Band Dorbor and a mechanised borehole at Banda Fawoman, according to the DCE will avert a possible water crisis in the 2 communities at the strategic locations would serve about 1000 populations.

The Banda District Chief Executive, Mr. Akone Emmanuel has performed a landmark sod-cutting ceremony to commence the construction of water project that will address the demands of the underserved people at Banda Fawoman and Dorbor.
The project, which consist of a Small Community Water System (SCWS) for the people of Band Dorbor and a mechanised borehole at Banda Fawoman, according to the DCE will avert a possible water crisis in the 2 communities at the strategic locations would serve about 1000 populations.
As the saying goes, "water is life", the District Chief Executive, Hon. Akone in his opening remark at the sod-cutting expressed his worry over the inadequate portable water at the 2 communities in the district and stated that it will be a relief to commence the water project to abate the water challenges.
"The complaints I and the assembly are receiving from the commuter every day concerning their water crisis in these communities unbearable," he stated.
He continued that, it wasn’t by chance that the sod cutting ceremony attracted the assembly staff, the traditional leaders, and the general public, overwhelmed by the Chief Executive expressed how important the Initiative means to everyone connected to the project.
The DCE commended the strong commitment from the assembly staff by organising funds from the District Development Funds (DDF) and encouraged the citizens to support the project.
He indicated that upon the project completion, citizens who would like to extend water connection to their homes, specially at Banda Dorbor as theirs is a Small Community Water System, should do well to follow the necessary procedure and to avoid illegal connections.
The Chiefs at the communities expressed their appreciation for the support that had enjoyed so far from the DCE and the Assembly with respect to the NPP Constituency Executives, Electoral Area coordinators and the polling Station Executives who were all present at the sod cutting ceremony to acquisit land for the drilling, and further appealed for more support from all stakeholders to enable the project's completion.
