C/R: Police Commander allegedly brutalizes Chief and 3 others for land disputes
The Motor Traffic and Transport Department Commander at Elmina allegedly brutalizes and arrests Chief Regent of Ekumfi Ebuakwa.
The MTTD Police Commander at Elmina in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abram in the Central Region Supritendent Bansah Becham has allegedly brutalized and arrested the Chief Regent of Ekumfi Ebuakwa in the Ekumfi District.
Speaking in an interview with the media, the Chief Regent of Ekumfi Ebuakwa Abusuapayin Kofi Aburam said the Police Commander ordered his 5 policemen he went with to brutalized and arrested him for asking the Police officers to stop construction on the land without any approval.
According to the Abusuapayin Kofi Aburam , the Police Commander started beating them when he asked them who gave the said land to him to build on it, the police Commander started assaulting him with his 5 men, arrested him and 3 others to Ekumfi police station.
According to the Abusuapayin, in an interview with the media said, he told them to stop working on the land because it doesn't belong to them.
The Police Commander then called reinforcement from Cape Coast and arrest the Abusuapayin and his three men who were with him to Police Station.
In addition, some of the eyewitnesses who witnessed the incident narrated what happened to the media.
One Naana Asiaba said he heard a noise and insult outside so she went out only to see that the police Commander was assaulting the Abusuapayin without knowing the reasons. According to the eyewitness, the Police Commander assaulted the Abusuapayin and arrested him as a result of Land disputes.
The police officer alleged to have been building on the Land which doesn't belong to him.
Tufuhene of the area Finally went to the Police Station and granted the Abusuapayin and 3 others bail.
He said the police Commander assaulted and arrested the Chief because the Chief has asked him to stop working on his land also has destroyed his building foundation.
The attempt to reach the Police Commander proved furtle hence was not able to talk to the media on the matter.
