COVID-19: Ghana’s Active cases decline to 1,723; Death toll now 261
Ghana’s active COVID-19 cases have seen a significant drop to 1,723 as of August 18, 2020.
This follows an increase in recoveries to 41,276, with death toll pegged at 261.
Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, made this known to the media at the Coronavirus press briefing on Thursday in Accra.

Ghana's overall COVID-19 case count stands at 43,240.
Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye noted that, the 166 new cases recorded were reported from 34 districts in 5 regions.
He emphasized that, the 11 remaining regions have reported no cases over the period under review.
So far 431,272 tests have been conducted in the country.
