Rhian Brewster says he chose Sheffield United over numerous of clubs that were interested in securing his services.

According to him, the decision to leave the Champions was tough but considering his age and future, it was time to push on to a new challenge and Sheffield fitted his cards.

“Quite a few teams came in for me and you cannot pick one straight away, I had to think about it and take my time. It’s my future, my career, and I only made my decision two days ago,” he told sky sports.

“It was a hard decision, but I personally think this is the best decision, coming to Sheffield united and trying to push on with my career. This is the best option for me right now.

“It’s hard leaving any team, but especially an amazing team like Liverpool that are on the way up. But I need game-time and it’s time for me to push on, and I can do that at Sheffield United.”

The 20-year-old joined Sheffield United for a club-record fee of £23.5m and committed his future to the Blades signing a five-year deal at Bramall Lane.

Klopp’s side will retain a 15 per cent sell-on clause for the 20-year-old and a buy-back clause that is valid for the next three years.

Brewster netted 11 times in 22 games for Swansea City in the Championship during his loan spell before joining Liverpool’s pre-season. He defined that being a record signing comes with responsibility but since it's his duty as a striker, he would not be moved by the pressure.

Manager Chris Wilder has been patiently communicating with Liverpool for the services of the England U-21 youngster with the assurance that his talent can aid the Blades to start their winning mentality.

Sheffield United have lost all three of their Premier League matches and are looking to bounce back against Arsenal on Sunday.

Wilder revealed his delight in his new signing saying, "At the top of the pitch we have one of the country's hottest properties from Liverpool and for him to sign permanent here is fantastic for everyone concerned.

“There has been a lot of interest in him over the summer, a lot of speculation about who we were going for, but he has been our number one target and I am delighted to have secured his services.

"If you look at the signings we have made throughout the summer, it bodes well for the future of the football club. He's a talent, as are a lot of the younger players we have brought in, whether that's Oli Burke, Max Lowe, Jayden Bogle or Aaron Ramsdale, they are the profiles of the players we wanted to bring in during the summer, and we're delighted we have done it.

"He's a natural goalscorer. He finishes from any aspect, whether it is in the air or whether it's spectacular goals, free-kicks or off his shin - he has a lovely habit of scoring goals, which is crucial in the Premier League."
