The Assemblymember for Adantia electoral area in the Sunyani West Municipal of the Bono Region Hon. Yeboah Kwadwo Ernest is appealing for support to complete a community-funded classroom block at the Adantia M /A Basic KG.

According to him, the uncompleted 3 unit classroom block was started with support from chiefs, philanthropist, and the people of Adantia after a fundraising ceremony in December 2020

Mr. Yeboah stressed that the project is in progress but they still need support to complete it at the fastest pace. He then applauds the chiefs of Adantia, unit committee members, the people of Adantia, and other philanthropists for their efforts and requests more support to complete the project.

Available data shows that the nation has made gains in the gross enrolment rates at the basic education level especially at kindergarten and primary level following the implementation of social intervention programmes such as capitation grant, school feeding, free textbooks, and free exercise books.

However, one daunting challenge that confronts Ghana’s education system is the lack of adequately suitable classrooms for all children to sit and learn.

The challenge has led many school managers to improvise with trees under which children sit to receive teaching and learning. This improvisation is referred to as  “schools under trees”, and it is prevalent in some parts of the country.
